Markator

Markator Manfred Borries GmbH was founded in 1984 by Mr. Manfred Borries. Formerly a small company with only two employees, the company now has over 35 years of experience in the field of permanent marking and has grown steadily to today employ over 45 people.

The company is headquartered in Poppenweiler, a district of Ludwigsburg, and with many foreign representatives who distribute Markator products worldwide, Markator marking systems are already used on all continents.

Markator provide a German made range of both portable and stationary dot peen marking machines that are able to mark almost any material.

Dot peen marking is where a solid carbide pin oscillates by pneumatic and electronic means. It is moved by two carriages in the x and y direction and strikes the material by an up and down movement. Depending on the impact frequency the marking either becomes a continuous or a single dotted line – perfect for characters, logos or two-dimensional codes such as a data matrix code.

The force produced by the single dot marks is negligible. Due to this it is possible mark pressure sensitive, thin-walled, coated, hollow and arched work pieces. The system is suitable for almost all materials – including hardened steel!
